Bramble Ski Winter 2014/15 staff photography competition

11th December 2014

This winter, we are very excited to introduce a monthly photography competition, running from December through to the end of April. Entries are open to all members of the Bramble Ski team and we invite everyone to take part. The criteria for submissions is broad but should fall within the general theme of ‘Life in the mountains with Bramble Ski/Haute Montagne‘, we will rely on each person’s ingenuity to interpret this.

At the start of each month, all submissions from the previous month will be judged and the winning picture, along with the second and third runners up, will be posted here, on our blog. The winning photographer will receive a bottle of champagne, not to mention bragging rights. We will post entries received during the month to our Bramble Ski Facebook page and the likes, comments and shares that each photo gets will contribute to the judging process. The final winner each month will be decided upon by considering the social media interaction it has garnered but also by considering composition, creativity, style, lighting and story-telling.

To kickstart our competition, we asked the staff to send us a pre-season picture with the brief to encorporate the ski season into their summer locations. We loved the entries and are delighted to award our first prize this month to Brett Raybould. Brett first worked for Bramble Ski eight years ago, joining the team in Verbier originally as executive chef. For the last three years Brett has been running his own restaurant in Pionnat, central France. We loved his entry standing on the banks of the River Creuse, alongside which his restaurant – Le Moulin du Breuil – sits.

Second place goes to Toby Goburn one of our new hosts in St. Anton for his melange interpretation of golf and skiing. He spent the summer working as a caddy at Gullane Golf Club, not far from Edinburgh.

And third place is awarded to Asha Alwast for her dawn shot at Marina Mirage on the Gold Coast in Australia with her dog Ramsey. She spent the summer (southern hemisphere winter) at home after a career stint in Sydney. She has joined the team as a chalet manager for our luxury Lech chalet überhaus.

We look forward to plenty of entries for the month of December so get snapping and don’t forget to submit your photography competition entries to [email protected].
