And just like that, the winter season of 2017/2018 draws to a close. No doubt about it, it’s been one to remember, and for all the right reasons (save a few trips to the medical clinic for some of our over-zealous/less fortunate staff). We’ve had so much snow across the Alps and the pistes across all resorts have been in superb condition throughout the season! Even now, as we roll into the last weekend of the season in Verbier, the snow is holding up terrifically as the valley below explodes into green.
Our Bramble Ski end of season party was held at the Pub Mont Fort on Monday this week. The theme was ‘80’s Prom’ and the celebration was suitably colourful and festive (we’ll keep it at that – what happens at band camp, stays at band camp!). Among the thank you’s and farewells, the winner of our annual Bramble Ski photo competition was announced. The competition, now in its third year, calls upon all our staff to submit their favourite photos taken throughout the season. This year, we received a total of 302 submissions – a fantastic range of snapshots capturing life across the six resorts in which we operate: Verbier, St. Anton, Lech, Zermatt, Méribel and Val d’Isère. From stunning mountain landscapes to the more detailed moments of life as a member of a luxury ski chalet team, we were overwhelmed by the many, many wonderful entries.
This year’s winner, by unanimous decision, was the very talented Emily Shaw, whose photo of Verbier and the surrounding mountains lit up by a full-moon is simply stunning.
Emily submitted an impressive selection of photos and she clearly has an eye for photography, so making the final choice wasn’t easy. However we think we made the right choice. Below our a selection of her other captivating images.

It turns out that we have quite a number of visual thinkers and budding photographers in Bramble Ski.
Here are a view of our favourites foodie shots:

Last but not least, we love the honesty in Matt Croucher’s self portrait, taken in St. Anton:
Thanks to all our wonderful staff across the resorts for contributing to this, most exciting of winter seasons. We look forward to seeing many of you back in resort next winter and for those who aren’t returning, we wish you the best of luck in your next adventures.
