With spring fast approaching, let us remind you why spring skiing is so fantastic! Bluebird days, longer daylight hours, lingering lunches on hot sunny terraces and spring snow that can be just as fun to ski in as fresh powder!
We have some fantastic properties available in March in Lech and Val d’Isére, many of which are ski-in and ideally located to make the most of longer sunny days enjoying all that these amazing resorts have to offer.
With all three of the fantastic properties below being ski-in, ski-out – choosing any one of them as a base for your spring ski holiday in Val d’Isére won’t leave you disappointed. Enjoy the longer hours of sunlight and the amazing spring snow and cruise right up to your doorstep after a day exploring the slopes or making your way around the aprés establishments of Val d’Isére. Just a stone’s throw from the property is L’Enticelle, a great restaurant with dishes including delicious and generously-topped pizzas, where the huge sunny terrace is the perfect place to finish off the day sharing a bottle of French wine with friends before skiing home. If you arrive in early March, you might catch the Val d’Isére carnival on the 3rd, where parades will take to the streets. This year’s theme is ‘superheroes’, so why not dress up and take part in the festivities, as well as enjoying the ice sculpture installations, illuminations, pop up stalls and interactive activities.
Apartment Chartreuse is a perfectly positioned apartment that allows you to ski-out in the morning, with a piste just behind the property, and ski-in after a day on the slopes, as well as being just a stone’s throw away from the centre of town. Laid out over two floors and sleeping eight guests across 4 en-suite bedrooms, every aspect of the property has been carefully considered and crafted. Modern alpine furniture and natural materials are beautifully incorporated throughout this stylish property to create a cosy atmosphere that makes you feel right at home in the mountains. The master even features a free-standing bathtub, so that you can soak your muscles before climbing into the plush king size bed.
Chalet Abade is an absolutely beautiful ski-in chalet that could not be in a more ideal location, with the piste directly outside the expansive living room windows. Lounge on one of the sumptuous sofas with a book in hand and watch skiers fly by with the backdrop of the snowy mountains stretching into the distance. Interior renovations were completed in December 2021 by London based design studio Turner Pocock, making Abade a thoughtfully curated chalet with plenty of space for relaxation and entertainment, that sleeps up to 10+2 across five luxurious en-suite bedrooms. With the peaceful hammam and treatment room tucked away on the ground floor, why not enjoy a post-ski steam or let us arrange a rejuvenating in-chalet massage for you.
A super stylish and modern ski-in, ski out apartment, Cala 201 has four bedrooms spread over two floors, and is located in the highly sought-after La Legettaz area of Val d’Isère. It is part of a prestigious development overlooking the famous La Face piste. Decorated with a largely neutral colour palette, but accentuated with carefully curated art works and featuring a statement hanging wood-burning fireplace, the living and dining area is a warm, sophisticated and social space. The high beamed ceilings and huge windows frame the spectacular views from the lounge across the pistes and beautiful mountains.
Famous for its classy food & drink scene, sprawling sunny terraces, and excellent Austrian hospitality, Lech is a dream destination for an indulgent spring skiing holiday. To make the most of the usually wonderful weather in March, you’ll find no shortage of fantastic sun terraces to enjoy, at the likes of Panorama restaurant, Mohnenfluh, or Balmalp. As you wind your way around the 300km of downhill slopes, stop and refuel at the many establishments where you’ll find everything from fresh and tasty stir fries at Rud-Alpe, to authentic fondue at 500 year old Altergoldner Berg, with the backing track of live local music in one of the ancient dining rooms. Or, if you prefer a twist on traditional classics, ski over to Stuben to try the offerings from the youthful team at Fuxbau. We told you you’d be spoilt for choice!
Chalech 4 exudes cosiness, with a lovely wood burner and warm colour accents. Sophisticated touches and statement pieces throughout elevate the property while natural materials give an alpine feel. There are six elegantly decorated bedrooms sleeping a total of 12+2, consisting of a bunk room and five en-suite doubles; the master even boasting its own free-standing bath tub. Guests can indulge in the private sauna and hammam, as well as enjoying shared access to the Chalech development’s luxurious shared indoor swimming pool, tepidarium and gym. Families can hunker down together on the comfy sofa in the TV room and watch the latest films, with a dedicated fridge so that movie snacks and drinks are within arm’s reach.
Brunnenhof 12 is an ultra-chic apartment that has been beautifully designed with retro artwork and trendy finishing touches throughout. Located within the exclusive Brunnenhof development and sleeping six across three stunning en-suite bedrooms, it is just a 6-minute walk from the nearest ski lift and 10 minutes from the heart of Lech. A neutral palette with olive green accents is found in the spacious living and dining area, with cleverly mixed fabrics and a sleek fireplace adding cosiness. The modern kitchen and bathrooms feature stunning brass and copper fixtures, and the bedrooms are all thoughtfully designed and super comfortable.
