Road biking has never been so popular in the Swiss Alps as it is today and once you try it, it’s easy to see why. Here, quiet mountain roads take you through hidden villages and valleys, and wind their way up to breathtaking alpine summits. Away from all the frenzy of city cycling, it is an opportunity to relax and let the stress of everyday life fade away while you focus on your sole aim: to reach the top of that climb.

In the temperate summer months, the mountain roads of Switzerland are the perfect playground for Lycra-clad biking enthusiasts, striving to better their Strava standing and conquer the iconic climbs. I don’t think anyone can call themselves a true road biker without making the pilgrimage to the spiritual home of road biking, the Alps.
This summer, two new biking companies have set up in Verbier: Haut Velo and Kudos Cycling. Catering for everyone from adrenaline junkies in search of their next high-altitude hit to families looking for a fun way to get fit, the expert teams will tailor routes to guests’ abilities, preferences, and the time they have to spare.
Each of these new companies offers a slightly different niche. Haut Velo offers guided road bike tours allowing guests to take in the stunning alpine landscapes, while your Haut Velo guide takes care of the route planning. Kudos Cycling offers performance improvement training for all levels of cyclist, whether you are new to road biking or a seasoned cyclist.
Guests at Bramble Ski and Haute Montagne luxury ski chalets can choose from several options, from accompanied mountain tours to intensive training programmes led by current and former professional cyclists or simply ‘go it alone’, personalised map in hand. The routes will showcase the very best the region has to offer, taking cyclists through the alpine countryside and past picturesque villages along the way. Those looking to challenge themselves can even ride the unique ‘Tour du Mont Blanc’, taking in Swiss Alps, France, and Italy in an epic road biking adventure.
After spending the day in the saddle, what better way to relax and recover by coming back to your luxury Verbier chalet and soak aching muscles in the hot tub or have our team arrange an in-chalet sports massage, so you are ready to roll for the next day?
To keep you going on those long rides, our talented chefs can prepare nutritionally balanced meals using locally sourced produce for you to enjoy each evening. The chef can prepare tasty energy-filled treats to lift your levels when you are oh-so-close to the top of that climb. We can even arrange for a health coach and nutritionist to come to the chalet for a consultation and plan a diet that ensures you get the most from your meals.
