So, what is so special about Courchevel? What activities can you do there? How are the pistes? Read on to discover our highlights of this beautiful resort.

SKIING

Making up part of the extensive Les Trois Vallées ski area (the largest in the world) visitors can enjoy 600km of ski slopes, comprising over 180 green and blue runs and over 140 red and black – all to the backdrop of magnificent views.

Courchevel is ideal for snow sports enthusiasts of all levels, with wide north-facing pistes making for satisfying runs whatever your ability.

The dedicated ‘Zen’ areas are designed specifically for learners, and there is a family snow park featuring an airbag for safely mastering the tricks you’ve always wanted to try.

More confident skiers can test their speed on the 3.3 km l’Eclipse race track, newly created for the 2023 World Championships and with a vertical drop of 970m from start to finish.

If you’re on the hunt for untouched off-piste powder, head to the Bel Aire area above Courchevel Moriond for relatively easy and safe terrain, or branch off from the famous Grand Couloir piste towards the Petit or Croix de Verdons Couloirs – if you aren’t opposed to a bit of a hike.

Further afield, discover the magnificent glaciers of the Vanoise. Try the descent towards Méribel or Pralognan from the Gébroulaz glacier for an experience equally exhilarating as it is scenic.

As always, it is recommended that you hire an experienced guide to help you get the most out of your off-piste adventures. Your concierge can gladly assist you in booking a highly-qualified and knowledgeable guide, guaranteeing you an unforgettable day on the mountain.

ACTIVITIES

Seeking a thrill? Then sledging down the extreme 3km Moriond racing piste is not to be missed! If you’re less of an adrenaline junkie, take a calmer husky sledge excursion, or hop into a horse-drawn carriage and embark on a scenic ride through the snowy landscape under cosy fur blankets.

See things from a new angle and take to the skies with a sunrise hot air balloon ride –  and experience the majesty of the Alps from above. You can even take flying lessons from the Altiport, sure to give you a kick if you’ve always dreamed of manning an aircraft. You can claim afterwards that you learnt at one of the world’s most treacherous airports – due to its short length, altitude, incline and weather conditions!

Unmissable restaurants on the slopes include Le Chalet de Pierres which serves authentic and delicious Savoyard cuisine, and Le Cap Horn, where you’ll dine on excellent seafood and sushi.
