1. Mountain biking 

While renowned for its extensive and diverse ski slopes during winter, Verbier turns into a biker’s paradise during the warmer summer months. The impressive mountain terrain offers thrilling outdoor experiences for both beginners and experienced bikers. In August, the resort hosts the Verbier E-bike Festival, inviting biking enthusiasts to challenge themselves, test the latest bikes from renowned brands, and indulge in local dishes on the trails.

The resort’s dedicated bike park, featuring 19 km of trails and eight downhill routes with ramps and jumps, caters to both thrill-seekers and leisurely riders. 2. Hiking and trail running

Verbier is well-known for hiking and trail running in summer. A must-do summer hike is Le Bisse du Levron, a scenic 12-kilometer trail following an ancient 14th-century irrigation channel. Start at Les Ruinettes and walk along the gentle stream, traversing stunning views. Enjoy exquisite local dishes at La Marlenaz  (one of our favourite restaurants) or an alfresco lunch at one of the scenic picnic spots. As you reach the end of the path, you’ll be rewarded with the sight of the “Chute du Bisse,” a spectacular waterfall. This hike is suitable for all ages and offers an ideal family activity on a sunny day.

For a leisurely family hike, embark on a journey to St. Christoph Chapel from Patier. This beautiful trail winds through enchanting forests and rewards you with breathtaking panoramic views over the Bagnes Valley. Hiking and trail running are some of the more popular summer activities in Verbier.

3. Thrill-seeking adventures

Adrenaline lovers will appreciate the Mont 4 Zipline, the highest zipline in the world. Suspended above the Tortin glacier at 3,330 meters above sea level, this experience offers unparalleled alpine landscapes at a speed of 130 km/h. From Les Ruinettes, you can also test out paragliding to see the best of Verbier from above.

4. Via Ferrata adventures

For a blend of rock climbing and hiking, we highly recommend the Via Ferrata. With two different routes, there’s something for everyone! The more challenging route, Androsace, promises a thrilling ascent, while the less demanding Edelweiss offers a gentler climb, perfect for families. 9. Swimming in alpine lakes

Verbier is surrounded by many alpine lakes perfect for a refreshing dip during a hike. One of our favourites is Lac de Louvie. Hike up a steep climb and be rewarded at the top with a lunch at the Cabane de Louvie, serving local delicacies. Enjoy a dip in the lake and opt to hike back to Verbier for a full day of adventure.

10. Fondue horse and cart experience
