It’s been a mission of mine, for some time, to bring more alcohol-free options to our drinks offering at Bramble Ski. I gave up alcohol four years ago and haven’t looked back. I know more and more of my friends, who drink, are trying out alcohol-free options. They’re looking to moderate their drinking and enjoying evenings with friends without the booze (and the side-effects).
If I’m looking for a grown up tasting drink when I’m socialising, I will often opt for Seedlip. This non-alcoholic spirit uses botanicals to give a complex aromatic drink that is a million miles away from a sickly sweet ‘mocktail’. Altogether more civilised.
We’ve been offering Seedlip in Bramble Ski chalets for a couple of years alongside traditional alcoholic spirits. They’ve been warmly received so we are so delighted to go one step further and offer an ‘alcohol-free après ski’ menu.
The menu is designed by Luke Pearson of Pear and Sons for Bramble Ski and Seedlip. Luke has covered all the bases with these beautifully constructed drinks dedicated to the winter. These include: the ‘Alpine Favourite’ (made using Seedlip 108, wild Alpine strawberry and meadowsweet shrub), ‘Petite Abricot’ (made with Seedlip Grove 2 and apricot cordial), and ‘Plum Wahe’ (using Seedlip Spice 94 accompanied with plum caramel and a dash of vanilla).
It seems the collaboration could not have come at a better time as more and more travellers are swapping the booze for ‘mindful drinking’. From Gen Zs to Baby Boomers, the popularity of non-alcoholic alternatives has matched rising health and wellness trends. Curren Gooden Associates reports* an annual growth in sales of 418% in non-alcoholic spirits for 2019. Also 58% of consumers are drinking more no and low alcoholic beverages than last year**.
The menu is appearing in a selection of properties including Christiania Penthouse in Zermatt, Chalet Les Etrennes and La Vigne in Verbier, Chalet Valentine and Chalet Les Brames in Méribel, Tschoder in St. Anton, Chalet Machapuchare in Val d’Isère and the brand new Chalech S in Lech.
I hope you love the concept and will join me in raising your glasses and embracing alcohol-free après ski. All the dancing and fun without the hangover!
